President Lincoln visited, and troops occupied the 1825 Liberia house during the Civil War. The house is open for special events and tours, and the grounds, including short walking trails, are open for walking and picnicking. Parking located along Portner Avenue and the restrooms are open from April to October. Liberia House grounds are available for private rentals. Park is open from dawn to dusk.
