Jennie Dean Memorial

Located on the campus of the original Manassas Industrial School for Colored Youth, the only historic site in Manassas focused entirely on African-American history. The Memorial is dedicated to the schools’ founder, Miss Jennie Serepta Dean, herself born into slavery in Prince William County. The site includes a bronze statue of Miss Dean, historic markers, stone outlines of many of the original campus buildings, and a model of the original campus. Parking is conveniently located adjacent to the entrance of the Memorial. No restrooms. Park is open from dawn to dusk.
